Headphones or earbuds

I'm after some new ear wear, but cannot decide between headphones or earbuds.
I've found earbuds uncomfortable in the past as I have small ear holes and I like the idea of headphones, but don't want anything huge that makes me look like I've a couple of Elephants ears on the side of my head.
Any suggestions please? I'd like wireless and my budget is £50.

I'll be honest for that budget you'll be sacrificing sound quality.

Have you looked at bone conducting headphones?

Have a look at Sony WH-CH520 or Anker Soundcore Life Q20 if you go for under £50 bluetooth headphone

By the way, what is your existing earbuds? Have you try using smaller tips or change to memory foam tip?

Apart from bone conducting headphone, ear clip earbuds and open ear headphone can also be an option.

There's like for Soundcore here too, including some noise-cancelling ones under £50.

Headphones that are large enough to encompass your ears are always going to look fairly large on your head.

I don't like the type that go into the ear canal; I prefer the type that sit on the end of it. At the moment I'm use the oval type from Apple (on a Android phone).

    I'll second this suggestion.

I don't like in-ear and many over-ear are too bulky so I went with bone conduction and selected these https://www.johnlewis.com/shokz-openmove-bluetooth-wireless-open-ear-headphones-grey/p110575797. I use them mainly while out walking or in the gym and they're generally fine, although heavy traffic noise can drown out the sound.

One possible disadvantage with those is that they wont protect your ear canal from cold. In winter, I often put my earphones in just for that reason - I get tend to get mild earache otherwise.
