No Advisory MOTs

I was watching a YouTube video recently where a car dealer was furious when someone suggested that a "no advisory MOT' from a car dealer wasn't a proper MOT. I do see lots of motor traders advertising that cars will be sold with a 'no advisory MOT'. When you look online the MOT has expired. The only way I could see it working would be for an MOT tester to do a pretend MOT, fix the problems and then do a proper MOT. Can you phone up a garage that does MOTs and ask for a 'no advisory MOT'?'

Some garages do pre mot checks and work. My van goes to a lorry garage and used to have that, everything fixed before hand so that the MOT, which used to be done elsewhere as they didn't have the set up but do now, was always perfect. Their pre MOT was considerably more thorough than the MOT and obviously costs too.

MOT testers will often put things like 'engine under tray in position'. Unless it's agreed that an MOT will be given with no advisories you can never guarantee it. These car dealers guarantee it.

I'm not sure of your question
A garage will take a car for MOT before selling; they will fix any fails and any advisories and then take it AGAIN for an MOT (not a retest as that doesn't address advisories) and therefore get a 'no advisories' MOT; car in perfect condition

These are car dealers that are guaranteeing that all their cars will be sold with 'no advisory MOTs'. There has to be some collusion between MOT tester and car dealer. It's obviously undermining public trust in MOTs.

OP, not sure that's what they are selling. Sounds like they mean that the MOT will have no advisories as they will fix any advisories before you get the car, rather than get the MOT tester to ignore or cover up the advisories.

No advisories does not mean that the car is in perfect condition. There are some hilarious advisories online. The dealers are saying they can get special MOTs without any.

That's certainly what they're hoping you'll read into it.

As has been said, engine undertrays SHOULD be advised where they prevent the vehicle structure being adequately assessed.

Remember - Mr MOT is not allowed to remove any parts, including undertrays.

Of course but the CURRENT MOT will say 'no advisories'

    I saw that video too.

He explains in that and other videos that he has a "special arrangement" with the garage because they know he is a trader, where they ensure that they fix any issues to get it advisory free because they know he wants that and will pay for fixes.

Also they are as strict as possible on the MOT, again because they know he is a trader, and the first thing cynical customers do is get an MOT and then come back shouting "bent MOT"  because it has a string of advisories
