Morning all and a very happy birthday to Snoozer.
Sunshine here and I've got one load of washing in the machine so might hang that out later.
I've found out that there are a couple of Indian clothing shops in MK so might go there later and check them out for sandals to go with my sari for the wedding. If not then I might have to go to Wembley or somewhere.
We had a super day in London yesterday, starting with a visit to the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. The Floral Hall is so impressive, both inside and out. We went right up to the top terrace but then came down for lunch in the ground floor cafe. We then walked through Covent Garden and down Whitehall, where we unexpectedly caught the tail end of the St Patrick's Day procession. This all took us far longer than we'd thought so we just had a wander around, followed by tea and cake then back to Euston for the train home. Lots of football supporters on the train down; the Newcastle lads must have had a very early start.
Best wishes to everyone and hope your day goes to plan.15 -

Morning! Not sunny but dry instead
Off to the allotment this morning to plant half my potatoes and sow som other seeds direct. And take and fetch OH from work, his hands are seemingly scabby and weepy on a cycle, no idea what's causing it as nothing has changed here. When I come back I'll do some wood burning, it's a friends birthday this week and I must must must finish the chopping board she asked me to do last year! It's pretty big though. So that's me occupied all day, supper is slow cooked brisket , mash and cabbage [ same as yesterday] OH said the gravy was really good, I said no wonder, there's practically a bottle of wine in there [ I opened it, had a glass and then promptly forgot about it for a few weeks after which drinking it was not an option - good for a very rich gravy though]
Gers, enjoy the excerciseTA, you can come and do mine if you like too, the cats keep pressing their noses up against them when they're being nosy. snoozer, Happy Birthday! hope it's a great one! camelot, you've got some great neighbours! Ruby, what kinds of things do you bake with Rob? remmie, what kind of pastry for the pies? [I''m attempting a pide recipe after s cooking is on my mind
] mehefin, hope you find a clerk before long...mayb you can employ Jackie Weaver
she's definitely no nonsense! Take care all, wrap up, it's still chilly....

Morning everyone happy birthday snoozer have a lovely day . It’s chilly but dry here I’ve got a few things to do today but I’m trying to pace myself after a life time of racing about I think that is half of my trouble I’m rushing about first thing getting everything done and then wondering what to do with the rest of the day I’ve got to think I’ve got all day to do it and I don’t need to have to be in such a hard and fast routine. Dog will be getting walked a bit later when it hopefully gets a little bit warmer it’s supposed to stay dry then I’m going to put a few more things on Vinted I’ve had it turned off while I have been away we have got the log burner lit and I will need to order some more coal it should then last us through until the end of April. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. And a Happy Birthday @snoozer, enjoy the day, hopefully a few nice treats will be coming your way.
We've had some rain overnight and now it's looking a bit drab out there. It's supposed to be mainly cloudy but dry today, brighter intervals are possible this afternoon and it's set for minus figures overnight - again. No matter, it's a stay at home day for me.
Yesterday's jobs got done as planned and I enjoyed the chicken casserole. As usual, there's enough left to freeze for another meal - no wonder the freezer is always full! I raided the fabric stash for some material to make a couple of shopping bags and have cut out the pieces but ran out of steam after that, so sewing them up is the no.1 job on today's list. Other than that, it's the usual day to day stuff.
Left over potatoes from yesterday's dinner are going into frittata for tea tonight with a bit of green salad. Not sure about afters, maybe just some fruit as I've noticed the sweet treats are becoming a bit too regular. I don't want the diabetes nurse telling me off at my next review or putting me on medication, I'd prefer to stay on a diet controlled regime that's worked well for the last 4-5 years.
I watched the first episode of the new drama Protection last night and am looking forward to episode 2 tonight. On the subject of TV, has anyone else noticed the viewing schedules studiously avoid the word "repeat"? The trend seems to be something like "another chance to see" or "last week's episode". I think I'm turning into Victor Meldrew!
Right, on with the the start of a new week, I hope it's a good one for us all. Take care, hugs available as usual. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
