Ah, that will be the difference. We aren't on mains drainage, so only have a standing charge for water. Crikey though, I hadn't realised the standing charges had got so high for sewerage!

Indeedy, can't recall how much exactly but that aspect of it is the bulk of this year's increase too.

I've not seen a Southern Water bill, but mine (from a different water company) gives a figure for how much water we're using per day, on average over the billing period. Three of us typically get through 200-250 EDIT: 300 litres a day.

Humdinger1 does your bill give a similar figure?

Edited after checking a recent bill!

That's in line with our daily usage ......2 people, 220 litres a day (80 cu metres per year), £42 a month water & sewerage including standing charges.
