When I Log in to bank account I always need phone

I have the Santander app as I stated in my OP 

When you reach my age you won't be able to see the tiny bank details on a mobile phone that is why I prefer my 27 in monitor.

I've been doing some experiments with other browsers 
So chrome for my wife and Opera for me which suddenly decided to retain my details.
It is only Edge I have this problem so I have ditched edge for my banking.

If you have a tablet then you could run the app on that.

Then it is almost certain that Edge is clearing cookies when you close the browser (there is an option to do this of course)
