    Something link blink from Amazon?

We have several scattered around the house to monitor pets while we are out. Can be set to just activate with motion is detected.
No subscription required. Can monitor via app on phone.

We have Tapo tc60s in our house, local storage on sd card, handy to keep an eye on the doggos when we are out but also act as cctv for front and back garden (work through the window).  About £20-£25 a pop, can track movement and records it and you can see it on the app

Cheap Tapo internal camera around £20, as Badboi says. I have them in the office of the charity I do stuff for and they work perfectly. They alert you by phone app if any movement or person detected.
Indoor Mini Smart Cam, 3MP High Definition with Night Vision, Tapo C11

    What floor you are on?
Want to put it outside on a wall, inside behind window, or one of those door cameras?

Recently went with EUFY brand and they're really good, quality, price, software, no monthly fees etc.

I would also recommend the tapo app. I have TP-Link C200 cameras, cost ~£25. You're not forced to install an SD card unless you want automatic recording. You can initiate recording with the tapo app and the photos or video recordings are stored on your phone, which is handy for sharing evidence. Also you don't have to pay for a cloud subscription.

One handy feature is you can set an alarm (light and/or siren) to go off when motion is detected. That ought to deter anyone with a key from unannounced entry, especially if you also put up a small yellow sign on your door saying 'cctv in operation'.
