Ok that has been noted!
Had a big gain this week, so I don't need anything that will make me put on more weight.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Right had a fab weekend.
Went for a drink after work on Friday which was a good laugh and didn't get home until about 7.30pm.
Saturday I picked up my shiny new phone, did some shopping and then relaxed in the pub garden with my Cousin and her baby daughter. I was lovely and chilled in the sun with a nice diet coke... Wonderful!
And then on Sunday I met some friends in Bath and spent the day being a tourist which was so much fun! Well the getting lost on the drive out wasn't so much. I knew where I was and where I wanted to be, but couldn't work out how to get there!! Still I got home in the end.
I am ready for a week on relaxing at work now. :jCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Morning Guys
I was just thinking about how the current economic situation is effecting my budget.
Now I live with my Mum so I am lucky there. I have recently made her up my rent to £240 a month to try and help out a bit more. But what really made me think was going to fill my car up last night.
Unleaded was on at £1.09.9 a litre   I only but in £20 my weekly fuel budget.... and got less than half a tank
Everything seems to be going up... but how do we deal with this when we are ready budgeted to within an inch of our lives??
This is my current SOA, but I now don't think that I am budgeting enough for things...Pay - £1100.16
Rent - £240.00
Contact lens - £10.00
RAC - £9.90 (I've had to call them out twice this year... Cam belt  and I locked by keys in the carSo worth every penny!!)
Car Insurance - £32.38
Car maintenance - £100.00
Petrol - £80.00 (this isn't going to be enough)
Mobile - £20.00
Loan - £284.34
Xmas/Birthdays - £20.00
Internet - £12.49
Spending money - £80.00 (£20 a week - split £6 Salsa Class and £4.50 Slimming World, with some left over for everything else I need.)
Total – £889.11
Leaving – £211.05
Now I know RAC will put this up because of the call out so I can shop around for that come May. My mobile isn't costing me anything at the moment as T-mobile have refunded me a repair.
Is there anything I can cut back on? My car insurance is due for renewal end of May so will shop around for that.
What I am aiming to do it pay off and extra £100 a month off my loan and I have a small amount on a credit card (£90)
Thanks I thought some general tips on getting through the next few months would be helpful to us all.
xx

Oooo I've just managed to cross off something things on the list at the start of this thread!!
That's making me feel a bit better.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Hi
Congraulations on crossing of the things on your list. Your soa looks good to be honest not much you can cut back on. Just watch the petrol usage I guess and keep it down to minimum.
Thing is as long as you are reducing you debt and able to make overpayments you still need to have a life.:j0 -
I know. I am going to cut back as much as I can.
Silly things like I make cards, but still go and buy them for birthday... I probably have nice hm ones at home I could use. Saving at least £2/£3 a go.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
hey lucy!
nice to see you back
Liked your thread about meeting people when skint; it's so hard isn't it!
I need to get back into DFW too...you've inspired me to get back into it all!!
LBM : August 2007my debts: less than this time last year....!DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -
I'm glad I have inspired someone.
Although I had a blonde moment and have realised why my petrol bill is bigger. There are road works on my normal route into work, so I have been going the back way which is a little longer... Hopefully I will be able to get back to normal!!
Going to try and keep spends low today, I need more petrol, but I will use my 5p off a litre at Sainsburys, everything helps right. And I am not going to my dance class so saving another £6 there. I can't really be bothered, and it does save money.
Other than that keeping busy, I need to finish off some table runners I have been making, the fabric was cheaper than ready made ones and they are just what I wanted! I have a lot of fabric left over so will try and use it for something else to.

Hi Guys.
Well after looking through all of my bill and bank statements and I don't think things are as bad as I thought they were.
Yes petrol i silly prices, but I am adding about 4/5 miles a trip as the A4 has bad road works which I am avoiding. Although managed to get home the short way last night as the traffic wasn't to bad :T .
I am still sort of sticking to my budget which means I should get a nice op on my loan and still be able to pop some money in my holiday account. Even if it is only £10
I am going to see a friend in America next year. I have been saying this ever since she moved out there (3 yrs ago) but I am going to push to have a nice 2 weeks out there next summer. And want my flight money saved up by Christmas so I can have a look for one in the Jan sales.
Work is really quiet and boring at the moment and I am finding it hard to get motivated. I have got a lot done this morning, but now my will power has got up and left.
I have my Slimming class tonight and I am hoping to have lost some if not all of the 3.5 lbs I put on last week  So I will be thinking thin at about 6.30 tonight.
Oh and I am going to try and get some thing listed on Ebay tonight, but I hate doing to so will have to force myself, but the money would come in handly. I have a whole £2.85 on it's way from Quidco, which I really need to get back into using properly. But my car insurance and RAC cover need renewing at the end of the month so I will have a look at it then.
I am going shopping on Saturday which will be the last time for a while, I need a few things and then I am going to concentrate on getting my debt down and slimming into my summer wardrobe from last year, so I don't need to spend much on one for this year!
Which also means I need to go through my wardrobe and may find some more things to ebay :j
But I think that is about it. Managed to bring in lunch from home for the second time in a row, which will have saved me about £5  I can never believe i let myself slip back into that one:mad: Oh well we learn don't we.
Still I need to go and try to do some work, only another hour and 5 mins and I can go home!!

Right.
Today is the aftermath of the Bank holiday shopping trip. I needed some essential things to get me through the summer until I have slimmed back into last years wardrobe.
Problem is for some reason I stuck most of it on my credit card!!  Which is my own fault I realise, and I am not asking for sympathy, I still can't believe I did it, but it has made me have a 2nd LBM, which is a good thing :T.
So Step one is that fact at cc is now at home and not on me. I am still waiting for the balance to show up online, but will deal with it when it arrives. I will ebay everything I can towards getting it paid off quickly and the card will go back to being and 'in emergency' card which is what I got it for in the first place
I am starting to feel better after being sick at around 2 am this morning, still now completely fabby, but better than last night.
So that was my weekend, I spent far to much (although some did come out of my current account so it could be worse!) I have £160 ish to last me until pay day on the 20th, but all of my direct debits have gone out now so it's just tiding myself over and then spliting what is left between my loan and cc payments.
I wont be doing that again!
Question is will I really wear the white jeans Mum talked me into buying....I think I had better do!!!
