It has been a long time since I last bought a property and it used to be the practice that your solicitor would send you the title register a few months after completion when your name has been registered as the new owner with the Land Registry.

Do they do this any more as my ex bought a new house and I bought him out of our house back in late October and beginning of November last year and I can see the record of the transactions on the land registry sold prices but neither of us have received the new Title Register with our names on it.

No, I don't think they do as a rule.
If they did I imagine they'd charge for it as it now costs £7 to get a copy, so see if you've been invoiced for it (there will likely be an item for them getting the title before you bought it to show that the previous owners had the right to sell it to you in the first place0.

yeah, we were sent the title showing the names of the previous owners when my ex bought his new house, which is standard. I thought maybe the land registry sends the new title to the solicitors as a matter of course when they have updated the register and so the solicitor just pass this on to you, so there is no additional cost for the solicitors.

i am aware that i can pay the land registry to download a copy from their website, but i thought i should have been forwarded the one that the solicitors would have received from the land registry, or does the land registry not send a copy to the solicitors as part of the TR1 process?

Digital copy sent to me by solicitor on last 2 purchases.

Official copy of title register.   Title Number MS123456    Edition Date: 16/03/2025

    and

HM Land Registry   Completion of registration for title number MS123456

With these documents you can add your title deads to HM Land Registry property alerts register, a wise precaution against property fraud IMO.

Alternatively, you can spend the £7 and download the title documents yourself.

You don't need any documents at all to register a property alert on the land registry (you don't even need to have any legal interest in the property at all).
