PIP reassessment timescale 2025

This is our PIP reassessment timescale.

I know this will not be the same for everyone & may get faster (I hope) Hopefully will put some minds at ease with the lack of feedback on how long these take.

Original claim 2019 for 3 years. As we all know Covid delayed reassessments & extra time added to original claim.

5 Dec 23 review started (as far as we were aware). Form in post (never arrived)

19 Dec 2023 chased & 2nd form sent out (received) but not till after Christmas.

Sent back day after received as had already had typed up answers.

17 Jan 2024 DWP form received.

April text we still have form

July text we still have form

Sept text we still have form

9 Dec 2024 text from Health Assessment Advisory Service. That they are dealing with case

Later same day another text with appointment for phone interview

15 Jan 2025 2 text reminder of appointment

21 Jan text reminder of appointment

22 Jan Phone interview 1 ½ long. Will vary from case to case. Questions in reverse order compared to how you fill form in.

23 Jan rang DWP. Advised not received & had gone for audit at assessors.

12 Feb rang assessors on status. Could not give any timescale for audit. Turns out 5 weeks in our case.

25 Feb Text from DWP assessment received. Rang for copy 7 to 10 days quoted. Would not give any info on content.

1 March assessment received, 11 points Daily, 12 Mobility. As per assessors scoring.

15 Mar Call from DWP/PIP on assessment. Decision given over phone. Decision Enhanced on both. 2 year reassessment.

Decision letter sent same day.

Payments backdated to start of reassessment which was quoted as Oct 23. Which has to go to another team to check figure's given amount involved.

Will be interesting to see how DWP score compared to assessors.

Oh interesting if it is indeed one of those cases where ultimately the DM did not agree with (all of) the assessor report recommendations.

Thank you for this and good to see the DM upped your care component to enhanced :)

We are getting incredibly stressed with all the potential changes to PIP being reported in the press. We are in the middle of the review stage - son's current award due to end in June, review forms completed and returned in December 2024. I am his appointee but have never had any text communication from DWP, only by letter. We are worried as all these possible changes may be coming in right as he is due to be reassessed, especially as there seems to be a big delay in processing reviews at the moment. He scored enhanced on both when he moved from DLA to PIP in 2021 due to his autism but I have seen so many people scored 0 or only a few points on review and lose their award recently, particularly those in the 'psychiatric' category that autism falls under according to PIP guidance. Such a stressful time!

Thank you @born_again I found that really useful. Have yet to go through a reassessment, and can honestly say I'm not looking forward to it!

Now received a letter to both me (as I represent her) & wife, saying they have all the info required to make a decision....

DWP, the department that just keep giving. No wonder costs are so high 🤣

Ok time for a Opp's moment... My miss count 🤦‍♀️
Was 14 pt on daily, sadly no 4 pt'er though. So no change by DWP case person.👍Till 28 Feb 2028, but review at some point after 27 Feb 2027

So now not sure whether to leave it as it is, or go for reconsideration on the review period. As no hope of any improvement (M/S) & max on both parts, with retirement reached in March 2028.

I don't wish to hijack your thread but my own review is now complete (decision came through today), would it be helpful as further data to add my timescales and brief experience?  Or would you rather I start a new thread?  [Edit: although I don't think it'd be worth its own thread, as it'd just be a single post.]

Decisions decisions... hmmm... if you expect, or think entitled to, a 4 pointer in DL I'd be inclined to seek reconsideration on the matter on relevant activities as low risk and probably fairly limited in effort commitment required. (My view is if successful while you wouldn't benefit now you may well do if arguing in reassessment nothing has changed and needing a 4 pointer for award).  Also due to the closeness of your retirement age and the ending of award yes try to challenge length of award if doing reconsideration. Analyse situation again if MR delivers undesired outcome(s).

To clarify (although you probably already understand this) - you should be unaffected by changes until reassessment as the government have indicated claims would be affected by the added '4 pointer' rule  only after the change if reassessed or new claim and falling foul of the rule.

The advice I've been reading elsewhere is to challenge any decision to award 2 point descriptors, where you feel you can make a case for 4 or more points to be awarded, even if it does not change the overall PIP award now, and to request reassessment if you currently only have 2 point descriptors awarded and your condition has deteriorated to the point you feel you can make a case for some 4 pointers in DL.
