i noticed... that a while ago they had value mint sauce down to 3p a pot, and since then they havent had that in my local stores...

also i went to and get some value cat food.... to try and cut down my pet food bill.. they used to cheap tins for around 19p.. but they have gone too..

and the cheapest now is 34p a tin... they have also dissapeared in asda too

to be honest i think that the value range could be part of their loss leaders.... or the companies that are making the value range for tesco are so out of pocket that they have said they are not supplying value range anymore.... especially since the sudden increases in fuel and wheat etc....

also if there is no value range on the shelf you will automatically buy the next level up, which will improve the shop's turnover....targets etc....

I joined the 'don't shop at supermarkets' challenge this time last year and suck to it all year until 22nd December when I went in to spend a clothing voucher for my mum. I noticed there were fewer 'value' products. That's OK! Wasn't tempted at all and came out with just the jumper for mum.

My DD might make the odd post for me
  • Just as a by the way I have just been invited to trial Tesoc Value Funiture Polish as part of the Tesco Home Panel so it looks they still intend to keep some value products.

Tescos are phasing out the value range, this was announced last year, by the head man
We are the change we wish to see.
  • The pickled value beetroot has disappeared and has been replaced with Oakwell one at 32p and it has preservatives in it whereas the value one didn't!
  • I notice this every single year on the run up to christmas and thought I was going crazy, I only assume its because they know that everybody does big shops for christmas so they make you spend more
