Missed something off original asset declaration for UC

Options
I asked a few weeks ago about my husband owning half of his mom’s house.
I found the regs which say because she is a pensioner and he doesn’t get any money from it it is disregarded for UC.
We transitioned from tax credits 6 months ago and just realised my husband didn’t declare it.
How do I go about putting this right? Do I put it on the journal and redeclare savings for when claim started?
it won’t affect what we have been paid and the claim is closing now anyway but I want it all the be 100% correct
thanks

    Yes:

my partners parents signed half of their house over to him, his mom is a pensioner and still lives there.

OP you are correct it's disregarded capital.  https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/376/schedule/10  No 2
You don't have to legally tell UC about disregarded capital, sometimes best practice to do so, but even if you don't the final outcome will be the same.
Personally as you as coming off UC I see no point is now adding it,  you might just end up with added hassle as many DWP staff do not know the actual benefit law.

We’ve had problems every step of the way with the claim and now it’s ending 6 months early. Part of me thinks don’t bother saying anything but if we ever have to go back they will say y didn’t you tell us.
At the job centre the staff don’t seem to understand anything about moving from TC, transitional protection, self employed income or even the AET.
I can’t get there to explain it all and my partner has done his best but they have now made an appointment with a work coach saying he needs to work more when the claim has basically already ended.
Think I might leave it and just tell them if we ever have to go back

With all the issues you are having I don't see any upside to telling them now, I would leave it till next claim if you have another one.
