Statutory Redundancy Queries - PA Care Worker (Direct Payments) where employer has died

Hi all
I wondered if anyone has any general advice about what happens when an employer dies. I am a PA Carer. In case anyone is unfamiliar, the person I care(d) for is my employer, but the funds come from the LA at the council, who also deal with payroll and admin.
EDIT:
The original post was longer with several questions. Some of those have become irrelevant, and others would be best suited to a separate post (incoming!). So I have deleted most of the OP, which should not make any difference to the thread as a whole as the answers were general anyhow. Hope that's ok. Have copy/pasted the text to my PC if it needs to be re-instated for whatever reason.

Have you spoken to council on this?
As I wonder if this would count as redundancy?Life in the slow lane1 -
Their employer has shut down the business, the reason is pretty much irrelevant, they will be entitled to redundancy.1

the decieased is / was the employer that is how Direct Payments work
however the council may be able to advise the estate depending on the exact nature of agreement between the employer the council asa provider of payroll services1
