Japanese Knotweed management plan

Hi all!

I am looking for some advice about my current situation. I put an offer in on a lovely 2 bed semi detached (which was accepted in mid November). I have paid for searches and filled out all the forms and then on Tuesday my solicitor told me that there is a JKW management plan in place for the property. She sent me the 205 page report that was done by a specialist company in 2017 when the JKW was discovered on the land (by the developer).
Due to construction and the likelyhood of this disturbing the plants and thus spreading it further, it was decided that a full excavation of the sites were dug up, sifted and then buried in an area on the site (with the membrane etc). This all happened in 2017 and as part of this management plan, they will have visited the site in 2021, 2022 then 2031 and 2032.
Once I found out this news, naturally I panicked and went stragiht to the JKW company that it was being dealt by! For them to discuss the plan with me, I need permission from the seller, which I am in the process of trying to get.
What I would love to know is firstly, would this be a risky investment? I dont see this as being a long term 'forever home' and I am worried that if I was to sell, other buyers would feel like I do!
Also, once the mamangement plan ends, if there has been no resurgance of the JKW is it ok? Or could it come back and then cost me a load of extra money?
On the TA6 property information form, the question about JKW asks if the property is affected by JKW. As it was excavated before the house was built, what would be your answer?
Lastly, in people's opinion, would this affect both the ability to resell and the value of the property?

Many thanks!

I would have thought in everyone's opinion it would affect both.

The issue of JKW was massively overstated about 20 years ago and the development world went into panic mode - post 2 showing the hangover which prevails.

If the outbreak has been sorted, there is no evidence of knotweed on adjacent land (such as railways, derelict land or waterways) and it hasn't come back there is little to worry about.

JKW is a weed, it can be dealt with quickly and effectively once it is identifed, just deal with it immediately.  Its when it is  ignored it becomes a problem, but that can take many years.

Thank you everyone! There is an insurance backed management plan for 10 years with the last visit set for 2032. I have been given permission to speak to the company today so hopefully they will give me some insights into what the current situation is. The JKW affected around 30 houses on the site, all of which have sold (in 2019) and being happily lived in! Just very nervous that I could be buying a house that would eventually be very hard to sell....or im panicking over nothing at all cause its been erradicated. However, I am right in saying that it will be on the houses 'record' forever?
