We've just had a change engine oil, warning light appear on our Suzuki dashboard
What exactly does this mean ?
The car was given a full service this time last year - oil and filter change and we've only driven 1000 miles since...

If it had a service a year ago, is the light triggered by time and / or mileage since last reset?1

Its a reminder that it is close to 12 months since the last time the service indicator system was reset.
Down to you whether you have an oil change. If not you can usually reset Suzuki remimders yourself.

Surely the simple answer is RTFM?1

The F'ing manual simply says "When the change oil warning light comes on - it is time for an oil change"1 -
From Suzuki :"The Yellow service due light will come on, as a reminder that the car is due for its service this will illuminate at either 12 months from the last service date or the service interval mileage, the car will still be safe to drive"Strange thing is - The light has never come on before !

It's now telling you that it's 12 months since it was last serviced, so it now needs doing.MouldyOldDough said:
