    I have located it now thanks but can someone confirm the Shahib_02 defence is about the difference between the date on which the ticket was purchased(and on the POC) and the date the PCN was issued?

    No their defence is certainly not built around that.

    But yes, that's one detail of their para 3 and obviously if you have more to add you put it as para 3.1, using the 30 paragraph Template Defence just like everyone else in all the other cases on the forum around yours right now.

    Sounds like you need a boost of confidence that you're doing it right?

    I suggest you just take a few days to read a few DCB Legal threads where people have recently written their defence with shahib's para 3 then their own para 3.1. added. No more links. Read the forum threads from this week with DCB Legal in the title, by scrolling through the first ten pages or so, of the forum.

    No, put the paperwork in a drawer and then leave it there

    Nothing is submitted with the defence pdf document

    Look up reviews of the car park. Quite often they are full of others complaining they were scammed if the signage or machines are faulty.

    I've already looked up reviews - lots of similar stories. There's even one that suggests/confirms it's wasn't possible to select/pay for the evening tariff using the machine!

    The vast majority of reviews are negative - should this info be in the defence?

    You can, to show a pattern, but a Judge won't be swayed by reviews as they are hearsay.

    This is my paragraph 3 (i) and (ii) any suggestions please

    (i) The vehicle was parked at Matilda Street car park Sheffield S1 4QW on 22/01/23. Although the signage was confusing and contradictory it did have evening session (16:30 hours – 09:00 hours) option which covered the duration of the Defendants visit, this was for a lecture ending around 20:00. Using the contactless terminal the Defendant attempted to pay the correct amount for an evening session. The machine initially would not produce a parking ticket even after repeated attempts. The Defendant tried to pay again and the machine did produce a ticket but with nonsensical information on it (eg expiry date 17:03), leading the Defendant to the conclusion the machine was not operating properly. The ticket was displayed correctly in the windscreen of the vehicle. Other drivers attempting to purchase parking tickets seemed to have similar problems. Anecdotally many people have had issues with the operation of this machine and consequently received a PCN.

    (ii) The Defendant appealed to ECP and POLA against the PCN using an image of the parking ticket but the appeals were rejected.

    ECP = the Claimant

    POLA = POPLA
