I managed to find the v5C issue date from dvla website. https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla
The date now matches. However, to my surprise this date is 4 months after the acquired vehicle date. Anything that i should be mindful of?
Everything in the report is clear.
Maybe it was pre-registered and in the trade for 4 months. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Hi everyone!!
After hours of back and forth calls with motorway and carwow, i finally managed to find some evidence.
1. Motorway gave a few important leads. Link to the original salvage auction. I can see my car on it but the number plate is hidden. There are some visual signs that can help connect the dots. Inside the front bonnet, one of the pipes has handwritten letters that match. The navigation SD card in the picture has exactly same digits as my car's (i am guessing this to be generic).
In the car description it says "Damage to this vehicle is missing/altered vrn and minor dents/scratches". I think there are typos in the description and they meant altered vin. The category of car is Stolen/Recovered.
I ran another report on VNCHECK.UK and to my surprise it has flagged Auction and Salvage History, Mileage Records.
I really need support from you on this!
Earlier today when i didnt have the above findings i was on call with dealership trying to discuss this matter for support and investigation but they asked me to find out where the online car buying platforms are getting their information and without the source of info they could not help. The dealer rep also got a bit overwhelmed and said "wait let me check where the car was bought from" and then he came back saying "oh we dont have that data". After this lack of transparency i feel that the dealership will do their best not to take the accountability. Shall i approach the support from Finance company only on this? As per phone call with finance, they are investigating the issue.
I am thinking of asking the dealer again where they bought the car from but i can only guess they are going to lie or forge their paperwork. What do you think?
Please let me know if there is a smart way to approach. I am really upset that I had to spend an extortionate amount of money on a stolen/recovered car and this was not disclosed.0 -

I guess the point is you have had nearly 3 years motoring out of this. So unless dealer you bought from refuses to take it back stating it is a salvage/damaged, at the end of the term. Then in effect you have had exactly what you have paid for.
The fact you have tried to sell via a 3rd party to make a profit, is really a side issue.Life in the slow lane1 -

If your at the end of the pcp
hand it back
the value will be below the balloon but that’s the finance companies problem
you got your use
you Could be opening a can of worms.Wash your hands of the issue2 -

My payment term is 49 months and I have done 33 months. Do i have the right to reject based on my situation?
The car valuation at the dealer's end is about £2k lower than the remaining balance on PCP. What about the payment for negative equity, do i have any rights?
Kind Regards

With PCP once you get to the end of the term, you have to choices. Pay the balloon payment & the car is yours. Hand the car back & that is the end of the matter as far as you go. Nothing further to pay..
Or you could P/X it against another car. Based on the value the dealer gives you.

Hi OP, do you mind me asking how did your car end up please?
I'm now in exactly the same situation - bought a car HPI (from garage) / Car Vertical (myself) clear 3 years ago, trying to sell now and been told it had salvage auction history (Motorway, Carwow, Big Wants Your Car & a local garage who uses Experian) and no one wants it. Even worse the garage I bought the car from had a FCA warning as unauthorise finance broker and no longer exists.
It'd be much appreciated if you could share your experience please.0
