Oh the days of mining information - I once was offered £25 per 1,000 -for a customer list it had 18,000 names and addresses and actually included Liberace.

There was also a guy who managed to get a membership list containing around 50k email addresses and employed someone to type them into a database.

GDPR has not stopped it just made it easier. Customer lists are assets and when companies close down they are *acquired* along with various other things.

These days it is called Marketing.
