What do you mean you don’t have a fish kettle?3 -
moneysaver1978 said:Apparently the kitchen was fitted by Wren but the two bottom drawers next to the oven do not seem to work well for us (see photo!).
Inside measurements are 20cm wide, 20cm high (realistically only 8cm of it is useable), 42cm length.
We haven't been able to find a storage box or dividers to better organise this.
If you have a drawer similar to this, what do you use it for? I thought jars of some sort but the edges of the bottom of the drawers are a bit curved (so they slide around) and in any case there's a narrow pull-out larder on the other side perfect for jars and spices.1 -

Purchased, used once to cook actual fish for a posh party
Placed in an unusually shaped drawer to defend it from filling up with clutter
Forgotten until….
House goes up for sale, shiny/posh fish kettle features in the pics accessorised with a chopping board, a lemon and a sprig of rosemary
I think the cost is more than justified.

I had already given the name of the kitchen units, when it was fitted, along with my details and all I want to know is what sides are available and the cost of the item.0 -
I don't see the issue, set up an account as they have requested and they will provide that information/quote. You want their help, you need to play by their rules. They have no contract with you, you were not their customer.0

I think it's one of those times where the "build it and they will come" philosophy actually works.
There are lots of weird and wonderful shaped draws and cupboards you can get, ultimately a lot comes down to the asthetics or usability of the kitchen as a whole... customer wants the oven centred and a total length of X so you end up with some odd 20cm width draws. We also have one but it's a full height draw with 2 metal cages that pull out as one. We use it for bottles, most common spices etc but it's a fairly inefficient use of space but thats this kitchen through and through.
As you've found out there is an upgrade to give the draws walls, the rods are just there to ensure you dont pull the front off them if the draw is over loaded. Not sure about a fish kettle, but we do have a vac pack, sous vide stick and a few other contractions (that are used regularly) that potentially could have used such a draw for vertical storage.0 -
In the good old days drawers next to or under cookers were for warming plates or kitchen pots and pans. These do look random though as they wouldn't take more than a breakfast plate. 7" or a very small saucepan with the handle sticking up.So as warming units I can't see what they would be used for. It's driving me nuts.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
