Cancelling Sky

I currently have a basic Sky TV package costing around £45 per month (from next month when prices rise). I don't subscribe to Sports or Movies but do have Netflix as an add on. I'm out of contract but Sky say they can't improve on this price. I have a reasonably new Smart TV so shouldn't have any problems with connecting to the things I want. I also have a Firestick I could use but it probably won't do anymore than what I can with the Smart TV but not sure. I watch a few movies, not much Sport but enjoy series on BBC, ITV, etc., I do like to record programmes though. What should I do? Ditch the Sky? What are the benefits of subscribing to NOW? Is it worth purchasing a device I can record on? Any help grateful received.

The only currently made freesat PVR is the 4K PVR Set Top Boxes: 500GB, 1TB or 2TB storage | Freesat It works with the Q LNB. Alternatives need LNB changing. Get it in 1TB or 2TB form. The 500GB HDDs have a bad reputation for short life!
FreeVIEW PVRs are available if you have a working UHF TV aerial. Some TVs can record onto an attached USB connected HDD.1 -
