Anyone had any contact with them?
This morning received as e-mail from them
Stark Connect are the appointed Meter Operator for the site details below and we need to arrange an appointment to install a new WC (Whole Current) electric smart meter. To arrange your appointment please reply to this email or give us a call on 0345 744 8900 - Option 3, quoting your reference number (*****).

Have replied asking who had instructed them. I haven't asked for one, I doubt the letting agency have requested it.

In which case, if you've had no contact from your own electricity supplier about this (you do have a supplier? you're not sub-metered?), I'd start by speaking to the letting agent and see if this is something they've arranged.

I'm with Tomato Energy so know it won't be them, going to wait to see if I get a reply from Stark Connect before involving the letting agency.  The email did contain my name address & MPAN number.

    Had a reply from Stark,

    Good morning

Thank you for your email, this is a contractual upgrade of your electrical meter.
Totally ignoring the question I asked "who had instructed them"

the answer is tomato energy. Does your tariff require a smart meter? Do you have one already?

I don't have one, I thought it could be TE but considering they fitted a whole  9 smart meters last year I discounted it.
Personally I thought it's a simply question to ask, a question I would ask anyone that wanted to enter my home.

What's the difference between that and a "normal" smart meter?

Seems I was wrong Tomato must be starting to install smart meters.
