I've had several batteries for different vehicles, from Advanced Battery Supplies in Stockport. They offer free next day delivery. www,advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk

Tayna were the cheapest- for an Exide, so I ordered one this morning.

Varta/Bosch (same battery, different label) were 33% more, for a 33% longer guarantee (that specifically excludes the reason I'm having to replace.....)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

"Also Eurocarparts' sister site carparts4less which is usually a bit cheaper and GSF."

Yes the above is true via CP4L Ebay site which is the ECP trade site so has longer postage times .
With a ebay discount code you buy from CP4L on ebay and pick the battery up yourself  from a ECP store.... so it then can be returned/replaced under warranty at that store especially if its a 3yr Lion battery .....as ECP replaces them all the time.
Lion batterys may only last two years but you effectivily get two for one .
Otherwise buy a 4yr Bosch via CP4L with a ebay discount code and be done with it .

But .....do not overlook GSF on ebay with a 20% or 24% Ebay discount code
GSF has its own DriveTec brand batterys which like Halfords own brand batterys are made by Yuasa but are cheaper and will have a higher spec than the ECP Lion brand batterys ie. higher Ah and CCA specs

This particular option isnt for the op .....but with the best discount codes you can get these for £30.38 although the std £38 isnt bad .

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386976463145?_skw=drivetec+battery&epid=19042790690&itmmeta=01JP8Q6JH1Q3Y23242947JBEE7&hash=item5a19983929:g:sP0AAOSwppFnoHp4&itmprp=enc:AQAKAAAA0

The linked DriveTec batterys are made by Yuasa and are far better and far higher spec than ECP Lion batterys which will be a lower spec especially the cold cranking amp spec.

Helps if you know your uk battery type code and size etc but the very common DriveTec 063 type and 012 type are a far better deal than a cheap Lion battery .
    A 012 type is just a taller (by 15mm) 063 type .
A DriveTec battery case is identical to a Yuasa case and it states made by Yuasa on the battery .

I priced that Exide 027 EFB battery from carparts4less

TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY POUNDS!!!!!!!!  (I paid £82.59 from Tayna delivered :D:D:D

Carparts4 less have the usual 20% off offer, so it would only be £192........

Shopping around is certainly the sensible thing to do ....if cost matters .

    A Lion 3yr 027 EFB would be around £68-£72
Possibly less with a better ebay 20%-24% code

Some people wont touch a Lion battery including some in the garage/service trade but as above you can get another Lion battery free if you pick it up from a ECP store.
This is if your battery fails in 3 yrs and you have a ECP store nearby.
CP4L on ebay lets you pick the battery up from a ECP store and often has 20-24% discount codes

Just had a new battery and buying online was just confusing - prices were £70 to well over £150.

Local motor factor tested the old one (it was on its last legs), tested the charging system (all good), supplied a new battery, fitted it and retested everything for £90.

The above doesnt include the £8 std or optional £14 next day shipping

    Buying can be confusing online
I never used to bother with online and just pay for whatever the supplier said was correct instore then if it failed early return it and get a replacement free.
This worked with ECP stores with both Bosch or Lion batterys

But that wasnt always the the most cost effective way to go about replacing batterys every two to four years .... depending on the battery brand as you can buy via CP4L on ebay with a discount code and pick up instore from ECP and possibly GSF ebay may do similar Im not sure though ?.

You can see the market knows people dont have a clue about battery  Ah and CCA specs, also the battery sizing in mm and the uk battery type code (such as the popular  hence cheaper 063) or 027 EFB in the OP,s case.

So its easy for sellers to overcharge and buyers to overpay.

The best savings are via ebay with a 24% code but reality is people just buy anywhere that suits them in the moment.
Doing it with a ebay code the GSF DriveTec or Lion 063 and 012 types can be £30 and change .
    Bosch work out around £50-£55

EFB,s may be less cost too  but you would need to check that out yourself with a ebay code at the time or the best way is watch ebay before you need a battery in the cold winter months ....cause thats when they are going to play up.

The BatteryGroup cost on the 027 EFB battery certainly wasnt much less than the OP paid...not once delivery cost is added .
