I find myself in need of a new 12V battery.
Who is the other recommended supplier apart from Tayna?

I recall someone else being recommended, but I can't remember who.

Obviously I want the cheapest, but not if that means it takes 3 weeks to arrive and then it has been on the shelf since 1987....

Alpha are the other big one.

TBH, I tend to just go through google shopping for the size I need, then narrow by brand. Alpha or Tayna usually tend to be very competitive, though.

Bosch is the usual preference - apart from them being top quality, they're owned by a charity that funds humanitarian, medical, educational, scientific charities.

Thanks, it was Alpha that I couldn't think of.

I'm getting the exact same as is fitted, my dodgy French electrics will no doubt throw a fit if I try an alternative.
As far as forums say, the battery isn't coded but you have to replace it like for like.

If you told us where you are located it would help steer you in the right direction.

We live in Huddersfieldand broke down in Wakefield last december. RAC came out and offered us a new battery for £173 - we said No Thamks and bought an Exide from Battyer Group at Barnsley for £66.

Lion from Eurocarparts if you want cheap. Lots of good reviews.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Also Eurocarparts' sister site carparts4less which is usually a bit cheaper and GSF.

I used these  recently for a battery for my Mum's car.

No issues - would use them again.

Never tried this place but I've been driving past it for the last 30 years so I figure it must be ok.

    Thanks all.
I just want to order an exact matching battery online, and then the next day a courier turns up with a cracked leaking battery that they have thrown around and dropped, then the supplier has to send another, so it takes 2 days to get one ;)
I can't be bothered phoning a round or going to collect one.

Tayna is my go-to, but I remember that someone rated another supplier- turns out it was Alpha, before.

Alpha don't have my battery, so it looks like I'll order one from Tayna Tomorrow or Monday.

It is an Exide EL600 btw, plenty online some slightly cheaper, but I know Tayna are good and £82.52 inc. delivery.

(The Bosch/Varta are £108, and offer a longer "guarantee" but realistically, it won't cover wear & tear anyway)

They shouldn't as vehicle batteries are rarely specific to disabled use only.  HMRC will eventually come down on them for VAT avoidance.

A repairer installing one to a WAV, say, might get away with no VAT on the same way as mobility scooter or stairlift repairer can under the VAT rules .
