AOL contact email??

Hi
i recently signed up to aol as our local village satallite system is ceasing to operate this week.
I tried emailing them from the email address they sent a confirmation of DD but they emailed me back saying they are not UK so cant deal with it??? cant seem to get anywhere on the uk site as it keeps asking me to sign in even tho i am already signed in??? tried emailing them asking them to refer the mail on to whoever can deal with it, But they just keep sending standard reply that they cannot deal with international queries(weird that cos they dealt with the DD instruction)!!
I dont want to have to ring them, but i desperately need to know how long it is gonna take before i can use the service, does anyone have a uk contact email address i can try??

thanks

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

    issues with aol? surely not!

As a user of aol for a long long time, I'd say...why choose aol? lmao I am addicted I admit it but aol is not the best ISP out there...aol uk is outsourced to india and we on aol call them indiaonline.

It's worse than that. Aol UK is actually Virgin Media :D

Who is everyone else going with in your village? Perhaps you should all choose to go with one provider, that way you all speak with a louder voice should any problems arrise. Or at least go with the majority ;)

Broadband choices are a little bit complicated, as people require different things from broadband as a whole. Some people download more than some providers 'fair use policy' permits. Whilst others require more than a 512kb connection, though alot of it is area dependant. Some say Sky broadband is terrible, others say it's fantastic. The best you can do is look at some broadband forums such as: http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/ or http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=69 and see what people say.

My son in law once told me that it was very hard to get rid of AOL completely. He was using them until recently as they have three computers in their house and the points from the credit card paid the subscription.

I too have used them for a long time and get annoyed when I have to use live help because it doesn't give me the answers I need although they are very polite. After a tip on this forum I had a go at getting the price down and it worked. I now pay £9.99 per month which is cheap for 24 hour service.

The original point of this email is that one time when I had a big problem they said I could get a new disk (AOL 9 VR) from their office in Ireland. I 'phoned them and everything was good after that.

My SinL uses Talk Talk (Carphone Warehouse I think) for about £25 month but I have very small phone bills so it would be no cheaper for me as a package.

To be fair, any ISP takes your order and then passes on details to BT to provision your line. As you knew that you would be loosing your local satellite network, why didn't you sort this out earlier, even allowing a bit of overlap? You should normally be activated within one week.
