Parking Eye DCB Legal Court Claim 2025

hi everyone, MSE newbie here seeking advice. I have 2 separate fines that have been sent on behalf of parking eye through dcblegal. Working in a hospital im unsure how for these fines I somehow didn't have a permit, they give 12 month permits but I can only put it down to the fact that sometimes we change sites so maybe wasn't registered at a particular site perhaps.

Anyway ive tried to explain this to these guys but in return have just been told to seek legal advice and attend at court. I have done some reading and apparently this is unlikely to happen. I can see there is an email address on the letter which is titled 'letter of claim' and talks about pre action protocols etc. Could someone tell me what I need to do now to make this go away. I have tried to get round the newbie thread but unfortunately dont know at what stage exactly I am. I am sorry if this question has already been answered, would appreciate any help or guidance. Thank you!

Have done a bit more reading, can somebody confirm for me, is it this email that I am using to respond to the LoC? As soon as a get the green light can send it.

    Dear Sirs,

    Your Ref.
    Proposed Legal Proceedings
    Claimant:

I refer to your your letter of claim.

I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:
    [Correct address here]

The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

Don't send me your usual blather about that.
I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

    1. Am I to understand that the additional £70 represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

    2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

    Yours faithfully

    Yep that's correct.

Which parking firm is at the hospital? Get pics of signs and the area you parked in, as that will help us help you later on.

DO NOT PAY IT, EVEN WHEN A CLAIM FORM ARRIVES.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm a lady but 'mate' is fine!

Yes and you should ASK THEM TO STEP IN AND CANCEL THE PCN (which they can).

Hey guys, quick update. So having sent the LoC, I have now received a Claim Form through the post for 1 of my 3 parking charges. Would someone kindly be able to shed some light on next steps on my part please. I think it is DCBL rather than ParkingEye who have sent this letter from the looks of things but not too sure. The court address is Civil National Business Centre. Also they have outlined me (registered keeper) as the defendant but it was in actual fact my son who had parked the car in reference to the charges they are referring to - does this matter?

Thank you again for all of the help I have been receiving, I am genuinely grateful!!

Definitely wont be DCBL, debt collectors

Parking Eye via DCB Legal have issued a court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL,  so it's a government letter which needs dealing with as the named defendant on the left hand side,  you the Registered Keeper

The defendant must defend it,  regardless of who was driving,  too late to name the driver now

Post the issue date from the top right of the claim form

Post a redacted picture of the POC on the lower left of the claim form after hiding the VRM details first

No personal details are allowed on here,  but leave any other POC information showing,  only hide the VRM details

Hey Gr1pr, thank you for your quick response. The issue date for this was 26 March 2025. I will include a picture now of the particulars of claim. Thank you very much
