Scammed by fake UK website selling poor quality Chinese goods.....

That is totally different to this case. As they are not saying they are a branded product.spo2 said:I have managed to get a refund through my credit card company years ago when the branded boots I ordered turned out to be fake, and the company only offered me a partial refund.
More recently, a friend ordered a DIY item and got sent something completely different, and Paypal refunded him on the complaint of item not as described. In both these cases the items had been delivered so I would say keep trying - send photos to your credit card company, and any branding on the shoes to show it doesn't meet what you ordered.Life in the slow lane2 -
Yes I know that, I read the original post. The point I was making is that their proof of delivery does not automatically mean no refund. Often you hear that because these companies can prove delivery, that refunds are refused, despite the item not being what was advertised, which was the case in both my examples.born_again said:

I had the same experience with Oliver Harrison of London. Ordered z black wool coat half price in their sale at £64.95 only to find this came from China too and no chance of retuning the cheap felt thing that arrived in a tiny package. Stupid I know, but thus was ordered in haste to wear at my partners funeral next week.

Reported it soon after it was posted. Was hoping it would have been removed by now, especially being a Friday.Push comes to shove could mark it as spam. Believe it gets hidden once 5 users have done that.1

Hi all - thank you for your responses. I absolutely realise the level of my naivety and looking at the site so many times since just how obviously dodgy it was. Huge lesson learned.
I am coming back with a bit of a positive update though. When I emailed initially, they offered me 20% of the price I paid, I responded following the conversation I had with Citizens Advice with the Consumer Credit Act short term right to refuse information and they came back and increased the offer to 30%. So, whilst it was a bit risky I went back to them again to see if I could do better than the 30%. I politely reiterated my previous points, especially in relation to their statutory obligations, attached several more photographs and requested a pre-paid label again. In closing however, I implied I may be prepared to consider an alternative resolution subject to a significant improvement on their offer of 30%, which I found somewhat insulting considering what I paid them in good faith. I said that this would be my final correspondence before escalating the matter. They responded again and increased their offer to 50% which I have of course accepted. They have confirmed the refund has been issued today, so now to monitor my credit card to be sure it arrives safely, fingers crossed!1 -
...which probably tells you all you need to know about how much margin they make on selling this stuff, even allowing for shipping it halfway round the world!Mandychard said:They responded again and increased their offer to 50%...1
