Any help how to go about choosing broadband supplier but will require some form of backup connection.
Not just for Internet connection but also to use VoIP phones, however phones are business critical so need some form of failover if the broadband connection is down.
Quick search suggests there are a few suppliers offering 60mbps connections which suggests they are FTTC only, but then Three offer a 5G 150mbps is this likely to be reliable?  If so what sort of failover might be used with that 5G connection?
Just to add complication, there is an Alarm line, current telephone system is with BT but don't yet know if this is all Voip or whether there is a fixed landline involved for the alarm.

Depends what you mean by failover and how seamless you need it to be.

Also depends how good your local 5g is.

My version is home WiFi through Sky
    and
backup via a 5g hotspot from a spare iPhone - but that only really works well for me - not the whole house.
In a few months I’m planning on in getting full-fibre to the home installed (the roll-out is late here), but I’ll probably leave the sky connection in place as backup (only costs me £5-10/month)

If I upgraded my router I could link my 5g hotspot to it, but “worst case” I have several places nearby that I could work from (including my office)

Using terms like "business critical" makes it sound like you should be looking at Business contracts (with their enhanced level of service) rather than a domestic consumer service.

All academic now, just discovered that BT want over £2.5k to cancel from a five year contract.

    three 5G is location dependent.
Mine currently showing 541 Mbps DL.

I signed up unlimited data package as sole trader a while ago and used own router.

In terms of reliability, it was down 1 time within past 12 months from memory.
