    Hi all,

You were right Coupon-mad, my reply didn't stop UKCPM and I now received a letter of claim as below:

Looking at other similar cases from this forum, I was going to send an answer by email to: contact@bwlegal.co.uk as below:

    Do you agree?

    Dear Sirs,

    Your Ref. 0050366900
    Proposed Legal Proceedings
Claimant: UK Car Park Management Ltd

I refer to your your letter of claim.

The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.

I am sourcing and seeking independent debt advice and as such, I formally request that this matter be put on hold for an additional 30 days, in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims 2017 ('the PAP').

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

Don't send me your usual blather about that.
I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

    1. Am I to understand that the additional £50 represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

    2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

    Yours faithfully

I wrote it, so yes! But add more email addresses for BW (search the forum).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"1. Am I to understand that the additional £50 represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee...."

    Should that be £70?

Well, I was not sure which amount to put here. The original claim on the PCN was 60GBP if paid within 1 month, then it became 120GBP and now it is 170GBP. So I considered that the debt recovery fee was 170-120=50GBP but I am not entirely sure

A pcn is never more than £100, so the original pcn would likely be £100 , not £60 , so they added £70 to it as ghost debt collectors fees

So its £70 , as clearly explained in the first picture

Do you want/need the additional 30 days to, for example, cover an upcoming work trip or holiday?

I don't really need the extra 30 days, I just copied and paste the answer from Coupon-mad

But don't just blindly copy stuff.

Make it your own and think about it. If you'd rather have a claim in this month or June, than in the Summer Holiday time, of course you don't ask for a 30 day hold.
