District Enforcement

I have today received a letter titled 'NOTICE OF IMPENDING COURT ACTION' from District Enforcement - Amount Due £100.

I received the first letter 2 months ago claiming i entered a car park and didnt make payment, i objected to it and took it to the IAS but they declined in my favour.

The issue is, i entered the car park on boxing day. Tried to make payment online, via APP, telephone (no one answered) none of this worked so i left the car park. I was in the car park for 11 minutes (i did not leave my car or the car park in this time).

What do i do? do i just ignore the letters? or make the payment.

Read NEWBIES FAQ Announcement thread. Try PLAN A complaint to retailer/landowner and especially one to your MP. Request assistance as you're being threatened with court action for parking non payment. Explain you were unable to pay so left 11mins later and it's unfair to be charged £100 for flaws in the parking operators payment systems.

    Obviously you will never pay.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Depends on which letters

Ignore debt collectors letters,  even from DE or any debt collector

Do not ignore a future official Letter of Claim with 30 days notice given, respond as detailed in the newbies sticky thread in announcements,  either from DE or from any legal company

Do not ignore any future court claim pack, which comes from the CNBC in Northampton

But you were told to do something about it,  plan A to be precise,  a complaint to the landowner

But this isn't new advice. As already advised: read the NEWBIES thread first please:

the 4th Post on Debt Recovery and

the 2nd Post on Small Claims.

But of course Plan A is what to try first and that's made crystal clear in the FIRST post.

    ...woah...!

District Enforcement are run by an ex-copper who we've previously described as having delusions of a level of authority that his company doesn't have.

Plenty of us remember that DE used to mimic words from a Police NiP.

Hmmm... DE haven't improved that much, have they?

"14 days from the date of this letter, legal proceedings WILL COMMENCE and judgment will be sought WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE".

None of that is actually possible under the pre-action protocol...but you believed them, didn't you?!
