in Heat pumps
We have had the above grant, fitted in December. Solar panels, heat source heat pump, radiators, plus we agreed to buy a battery. It is the worst decision we have made. Our electricity bill is huge our consumption since installing in December is 4000kw. How can this be right, the installers haven't fitted the battery right so it can't be charged overnight on cheap rate. I haven't paid for the battery as I don't believe it's working as sold. Can anyone help me with this, we got the grant due to my husband having dementia and severe mobility problems

How much gas (or oil, LPG etc.) were you using before you had the heat pump fitted?Solar panels won't be generating much in the winter, and the past three months (Dec to Feb) have been worse than the usual winter for many of us in that respect. I think there is a big danger associated with ECO4 grants, which is that you don't have the same assurance that things will be done properly as you do for something you pay for yourself. My heat pump uses about 5000 kWh per year so to use 4000 kWh in 2-3 months seems excessive, although December to February will be the coldest 3 months of the year so you would expect to use a lot of electricity then.Reed0
