I bought a “buy it now” about an hour ago.  I’ve   just spotted the earliest delivery date is 17th March, so I’ve gone to cancel the order.
I have a big red box saying “it’s too late to cancel this order”. So much for easy cancellations……
I think once the seller marks it as despatched or prints a label it stops the easy cancellation option.

It hasn’t been marked as dispatched, and I only bought it an hour ago.

The timing isn't an issue, I often sell something and have a label printed within minutes if I'm due to go to the PO anyway. I had one a couple of weeks ago, sold at approx 8am, It was packed, labelled and out the door by 8.15 (I got lovely feedback especially as my 2nd class large letter arrived next day).

That is odd then, I thought the cancellation button stayed until label printed or marked as sent. I've noticed before that ebay doesn't always seem to have the same processes for every user.

Funny this is on here at the top, just had an auction finish.  Was pleased with the final price and 30 minutes later get cancellation request with reason wrong payment information.  What even is that?  I wouldn’t mind if I could have given a 2nd chance offer but the options were decline or accept and relist.  Fuming
I’m sure used to be able to do 2nd chance to next highest bidder but all the bid details have even disappeared.
Well wouldn’t you know had to relist and sold for half the price that was bid up to last week and numpty cancelled.
I think it’s wrong they can do that with no comeback .

Meanwhile, there’s clearly a loophole for certain sellers. The item I purchased, which I tried to cancel after 1 hour, was finally dispatched 2 days later.
