Why is Ebay making cancellations too easy?

I have had 2 items cancelled this week.  I packed and purchased postage in the evening.  Next morning I get message to cancel!  It is so annoying!  Why does Ebay make it too easy to cancel.  Ok, I am lucky that they were not posted otherwise the buyers would have found any excuse to return them.

I too find it annoying as I had a real run of them when ebay made it simple to just hit the 'I want to cancel' button.

I often wrap during the day and evening ready to go first thing next morning, so I wasted wrapping/envelopes. Even now I get the odd one or two with no reason, and it makes me very nervous to spend ages wrapping something that won't be posted until next day .

I do though block buyers that do this unless they send a message with a good reason for doing so.

Possibly put them all in their basket and then checked out by mistake?
Hopefully they won't get their BPF refunded.

For that many 'accidental purchases' I think I would report to Ebay as auction interference. I can't see any real reason why that would happen, and assuming you are a business seller due to the volume of identical items, it might be that they did it to remove your items from sale and cost you re list fees whilst they used a different ID to get their own ones sold.

I have reported them, thank you Soolin. The annoying thing is you have to cancel each item individually. A right pain in the backside.

Don't you have to click on 'accept cancellation'?

The new system only allows the choice 'accept' or 'I confirm this has already been sent'  (at least on my version of ebay, and I'm aware we all have different versions of ebay. In fact in the past month or so  the item is actually removed from my sale page and I can't even print a label until I choose one of the options.

That is a little odd. I don't think ebay can (effectively) say you have to accept the cancellation request if you haven't already despatched (although it is inviting trouble not to). The last request to cancel I had was when I logged in to mark the item as despatched on my way back from the post office so I photographed the proof of postage and messaged to say 'sent 15 minutes ago'.

Funny this is on here at the top, just had an auction finish.  Was pleased with the final price and 30 minutes later get cancellation request with reason wrong payment information.  What even is that?  I wouldn’t mind if I could have given a 2nd chance offer but the options were decline or accept and relist.  Fuming
I’m sure used to be able to do 2nd chance to next highest bidder but all the bid details have even disappeared.

I bought a “buy it now” about an hour ago.  I’ve   just spotted the earliest delivery date is 17th March, so I’ve gone to cancel the order.
I have a big red box saying “it’s too late to cancel this order”. So much for easy cancellations……
