I am seeking inspiration for lunches. I am happy with pasta or a salad but DH does love a sandwich. I am finding it harder and harder to find something different. He loves ham and tinned fish, will occasionally have jam. He is allergic to cheese and has gone off of tomatoes Toasties. I can occasionally interest him in soup, sometimes he has a pasty and if we want a quick snack in the evening he will eat beans on toast for lunch. Obviously a bacon sarni goes down well but that is a very rare treat. He is trying more and more new recipes and ideas but is not into hot spicy food. I need something cheap and tasty to add to the lunch list. May do mushrooms on toast one day next week. Why does toast always seem more filling than bread? Will he eat noodles? I sometimes cook noodles and cool them quickly before adding chopped up veg and then some sweet chilli sauce. It's something DH and I eat a couple of times a month - DH always adds more sweet chilli sauce once I've dished up!6

Hummus and cut up veg? Smoked mackerel pate and cut up veg?5 -
Soontobeoap What about salad sandwiches - I like celery, lettuce, peppers, sweetcorn chopped up mixed with mayo. Jacket potatoes are quick in a microwave or I batch bake them and put them in the freezer until needed. Sweetcorn fritters are also quick https://lucysfriendlyfoods.com/2012/03/16/sweetcorn-fritters/
I've spent a lot of money on groceries over the last few days, more than I would have liked so I'm now at £218.63/£240. I did stock up on dog food though which will do next month as well.

I spent an extra £8.05 yesterday on a few top up bits but forgot to buy some little 'salad' potatoes which DS really likes. I'll attempt to remember them tomorrow when I'm near the shops again.

You could make burritos but just not spice them up?GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £75.94/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. @Soontobeoap - how about a small jacket potato - there are lots of toppings to give some variety.7

Went to Lidls today for our final shop of March. We received a voucher for £10 off a £100 shop but as we didn't need to spend £100 we made a deliberate choice not to use it.I went without OH and I was much more focussed and therefore quicker without home. I did miss him when it came to the loading up phase at the checkout.
we slipped our shopping from Monday to Wednesday this week which means 1 less shop in March as it will be April when we need to shop again. It means we have a good surplus for this month. I think I will put £10 into a savings pot and roll £80 into April.
£75.00 spent. £90 remaining.8 -
£5.33 spent today.
£0.88 at Tesc@ . I also had £4.50 in vouchers, sso initially it was ££6.11
Then in £land , bargain Swedish glace ice cream.£1.50 a tub, so grabbed three. As DGD loves this after her tea (dinner).GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £75.94/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Thanks for all of your ideas everyone. DH does eat noodles but I like to keep that one up my sleeve for a light evening meal. He doesn't like wraps!!!I I think that the way to go is more toast with pate, eggs cooked in different ways, beans and also Pizza. I am all fired up for lunches in April now. A NSD today and tomorrow will be as well as the whole day is booked up. There is an unbelievable chance that I may stay in budget this month.🎉🎉craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,
