Most ceramic tiles are earthenware, porcelain is a form of stoneware (but not the only). Stoneware generally is much more resilient than earthenware hence why in other applications porcelain can be so much thinner than eathernware and yet show a similar resistance. As tiles they tend not to be thiner and so are more resistant but have the typical fine finish of porcelainPHK said:I thought porcelain tiles were delicate and not suited to high use areas?0 -
Hello OP
On the one hand within the first 6 months burden of proof sits with the retailer so it's down to them to demonstrate the goods don't have a problem rather than the issue being user error.
On the other hand how well the tiles are laid may affect how easily they chip, an uneven floor being laid could be more prone to such issues.
Can you post photos of the floor?
Usually when you buy tiles you order 10% extra to cover tiles cuts, was you left with any spare tiles? Do you know who manufactured the tiles and if so can you find contact details for the manufacturer? Who laid the tiles?
