Before Covid (@2020) there was a general have a larf/General Discussion forum.
It was  stopped  and it has never come back.
Now I find it a dry/soulless place.

 Removed because it strayed into non money savings and political topics that caused arguments and had some offensive threads. Better off without offending people and causing an admin nightmare.

The general discussion board was much more trouble than it was worth - and I imagine disproportionately sucked up moderating resources better used elsewhere.

Try Reddit if you want 'general conversations'?

As some other users have touched on in this thread, the general discussion areas of the Forum (MoneySavers Arms etc) took up a lot of resources to moderate, something that was compounded by the sudden spike in users due to the Covid pandemic.

When the Forum switched platforms around that time, the decision was made to close down those areas to better allocate our resources. Focusing on MoneySaving also meant the Forum was a more useful place for our users.
