Hi LJ
It is very hot in Florida in July. However, we found that all the Florida parks are well set up for the heat, all the queues are in shade (only one we were in wasn't) and there are plenty of sprinklers. Going around the parks can be tiring and expensive, so we just used to do park one day, pool day the next. We did Sea World (this is a MUST), Universal/ MGM (Brilliant) and Epcot. We didn't do Disney as our kids have been a couple of times to the one in Paris.
We also went to the Kennedy Space Centre (NASA) which for us was a highlight of the holiday, though I know others who have said they have been underwhelmed. Obvious though it sounds,it helps if you are into space travel - particulary the 60's stuff. A good place to watch a launch is on Coca Beach. Though we stood for 2 nights waiting for a launch - it never happened (conditions weren't right) but its a friendly experience cos the Yanks love Brits and are always wanting to chat...If you're near Coca Beach you must take your boys to Ron Jons Surf shop- its a shop full of cool surfing stuff. They'll love it..
Orlando has loads of shopping malls for bargain clothes shopping..
If I think of anything else money saving, I'll let you know

Wet n Wild's great too!
And if you get over to Tampa for a day then Busch Gardens is a MUST.......I can't wait to go back there.....will ruin MFW plans .......lucklily the DSs are too small to get on everything just yet...not worth going if they can't get on the rides they want to.

Thanks for that setmefree I have just bought some dollars this week as it rumoured that the pound may weaken soon. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Hello again everyone
Where did that week go?
Nothing much to report this week
Went to see Derek Acorah from TVs Most Haunted on Thursday night and it was the biggest waste of £20 (it came right in along side the £27 Partylite candles I bought last year).
I also had an observation in my classroom by a college inspector and thankfully it went well, so no sackings in the near future I hope.
The main talking point in the household this week has been about the problems with our second car. We have had it now for four and a half years and it is only used to take OH to and from work. It has developed electrical problems which means that the radio comes on when no keys are in the ignition and the battery keeps draining which results in OH having to disconnect the battery every night.
On top of this, we have noticed this week that the temperature gage is not registering a reading and it seems to be using more petrol than usual which suggests that a sensor has gone. It is also leaking water from the cylinder head.
I think that we should take it to a garage and an auto electical place for a price and base our decision on the information given.
OH wants a new car! He wants to spend around £3500 - £4000. This is money that we don't have so it would mean borrowing. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Cars:mad: Don't you just hate them:eek:0
