O2 nightmare changing DD collection date

So I have been a long-time customer of O2, and I Pay monthly by Direct Debit. The problem I have incurred is due to a change in my employment I have had a change in the date of pay. Well, I have had more than one. So I started a new job in October 2024 and my previous employer used to pay monthly on the 15th of each month and my new employer on the 16th of each month so no problem.
However, the company have moved this to the 26th of each month. I have asked O2 to move the DD to the 26th of each month as I can't afford to pay for the phone contract, apple watch and Apple SIM contract twice in one month's wage. I live by myself and mine is the only household income.

The O2 chat could only move it to a date range and I have complained and had a letter saying - To change your bill date you can do this through the MyO2 app. We hope this is now rectified.

No it isn't and they gave no instructions on how to do this I have checked and can find nothing of the sort only a request to restart the DD.
I now have texts for overdue bills, restrictions of service and notification of late payment charge on the next bill.

I am out of contract on the mobile package but stuck to both contracts for the Apple watch of SIM and the watch.

All help appreciated - TIA

I don't understand.  Why does your company moving the date of payment to the 26th cause you to pay twice for the phone, the watch and the SIM?

Doesn't this situation fix itself after a couple of pay cycles?  Ie you get paid on Feb 26, it goes out on Mar 16, you get paid on Mar 26...?

So it sounds like you don't have a direct debit in place at all now, so maybe it would be prudent to restart it through the app?

hello, so the billing statement gets issued every 1st of the month and the payment due date is the 16th of each month for everything. So In February I paid it late on the 26th. Now as I paid it on the date I got paid I won't be paid again until the 26th March. But the bill was generated on the 1st March and falls due on the 16th and I won't have it until the end of March as I cant pay double from my one and only income. I have tried to move the direct debit date - which O2 complaints advised me was possible but they provided NO instructions and everytime I do this it goes to take it on the 16th - so this is a pointless and futile exercise.

Just to make this clear I got paid 16th October 2024, 18th November 2024, December 20th 2024 then January 22nd 2025 and finally February 26th 2025, this constant moving of my wage has has made it difficult - from January to February 2025 the wage was not paid for an extra 4 days.

I am also struggling to understand, you are only being charged once in the month and paid once a month so it just means making sure you hold pack the amount needed for your bills. So when the pay date moved from the 16th to the 18th you kept the amount due on the 1st back to make the payment in the same way you would have on the 16th , similarly on the 20th, and 22nd.

But again, I still don't understand. Why does moving the date of payment cause you to pay twice for the phone, the watch and the SIM?  Nothing you've said suggests you're paying twice?

Are you really saying you get paid on the dates mentioned and by the time the 16th rolls round you don't have enough money left to pay for them, but you do if you were to be paid on the 15th?
