It's been a day - lots of washing pegged out here, including the sheet I had to rewash because I stood on it and that's all dried. Been up at the aged Ps most of the day, flying there, including getting some washing on the whirligig that used to be mine but I gave it to mum when we moved in here. I had to clean the lines on that, first as it hasn't been used for some months. We (me and dad) have flung one pegbag as it has to hanger and all pegs transferred to the other one. While putting stuff away in the kitchen I discovered mum had 3 Tala Cooks Measures, so 2 have been removed and sis has claimed one. As mum started on this journey she was buying 'useful' stuff and this must have been one of the things. They don't have many cupboards in the kitchen - certainly don't need duplicates. Anyway Dad's bed stripped and remade, kitchen cleaned and dining room floor mopped. Dry washing brought here to iron. Mum's Dairy Book of Home Cookery (90s edition) brought here for DD as she wants it to use and to remember Grandma. With Dad's permission. He is feeling fragile and grieving the loss of mum (to the home) so needs support. So I still haven't been to see her since my first visit but she has had other visitors.

Morning all xx
TGIF. Not that I have any spoons left to get through a Friday, so I'll be running on fumes. Shouldn't that be crawling on fumes? 🤔 I seem to have a lurgy of some sort too. Sore throat and painful glands in neck. But heyho. It's Friyayyyyyy and it's payday too. Woot woot.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch bag, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in five, completed Connections with no lives lost, eaten breakfast and supped a brew.
My training yesterday morning was very interesting but blew my mind. So much to take in. Turns out two of the nurses in the team are regulars at DS's pub quiz. Small world.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off for work. The traffic lights on the roadworks had been turned away from the road for my commute home yesterday so I'm hoping there'll be no snarl ups this morning, but I'm still setting off early just in case. Plus I'll have to deice my car first.
Didn't escape snarl ups on my way home though - accident at the crossroads where I turn off the A road meant I had to come home by a different route. The road was closed not long afterwards...hope everyone was OK.
I'm so tired even my tired is tired this morning. 😴
Wishing you all a good day.

Valli - My mum had a dairy book of home cookery - probably an 80s version. Fond memories of making fudge as a teenager.I have been making progress, had a big bin collection from the council so lots more gone, and a lot of books left the building so I'm slowly damp dusting and returning the books I have kept to the shelves. We had thousands of books, mostly double stacked, so it is an epic job. And of course every third book is one you want to read.General ground floor clean required today, ahead of a visitor tomorrow. It's not raining and I'd rather be in the garden, or reading. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Morning all,
Sending all my spare spoons through the ether to Round-land x
It’s a beautiful chilly day today. Like Redo I would rather be in the garden or at the allotment. However, I have checked the forecast and it should be good for the next few days, so I am postponing outdoor activities. Partly as my leg has decided to play up after 2 good days, partly because I am dropping into ex workplace for a catch up soon.
The washing has been finally done and is out on the line, DH has just returned from yet another tip trip from his man shed emptying activities, I have dusted and vacuumed the landing, stairs and DD’s room. We are out later with friends for dinner. Everything always happens on one day! No wonder slinky isn’t working for me.6 -

I absolutely love my Dairy Book of Home Cookery, which I bought from the milkman when I worked and lived in at the Red Lion pub in Salisbury in the late 1970s. I still use it all the time. Good call Miss Valli.I've dusted the dining room and washed down more paintwork inside the front door and up the stairs. It's only when I look at spaces like that I realise they're absolutely minging because Wren empties her Kong by flinging it down the stairs so the dogfud bounces out. She thinks she gets it all hoovering it up. She doesn't.Better is good enough.6

I'm another one who uses the Dairy Book of Home Cookery a lot.
I've been MIA this week as what felt like a cold on Monday has definitely made its presence felt, so I haven't really done a great deal; had to cancel drum lesson, one student, Pilates and aqua aerobics. Luckily I had one student and one training session which was via Zoom so I managed that.
Still plodding on with turning my study into a hobby room, slowly slowly.
Did some gardening with Mr N today as it was lovely and sunny.
I don't think I'm heading for a lake swim tomorrow which is disappointing, but I'm still coughing and spluttering so it wouldn't be wise.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Lots of vacuuming done, and the 'oh so satisfying' scrape off the stairs pet hair done again. Cloakroom deep cleaned, ready for the leak repair, after which it'll all have to be cleaned again.Still need to fill the DW etc but that's easy enough - I hate coming down to the mess so I always S&S the kitchen at night.
Fayolle - it looks like a week of gardening weather here. I hope so because I have beds to build and fill, and dry root stuff to plant that arrived today. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
