Social Media - Help!

Hi All,

I'm hoping some social media savvies will be able to assist.
(there doesn't seem any way to specifically search this forum anymore so apologies if it's discussed here already!)

I need to set up some business social media accounts.
However, in order to be able to 'switch' accounts, Meta (thats Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp) seem to what to clump everything together in an "Accounts Centre". I don't want personal accounts to have anything to do with these business accounts I'm assisting with, so how do I set them up independently?

Am I going to have to purchase another phone?

Also, looking at Telegram. It seems only possible to have 1 telegram account per number?

Would really love to know how people manage and keep personal and professional accounts totally separate without a bunch of new phones! I've set the rest of the day aside to try to get to the bottom of it.....

"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

Surely you are using totally separate user/logon details for the business accounts?

Absolutely, but Meta recognises login from the same devices. So it links them together in an 'Account Centre' when switching between them.

Do you have an 'old' phone?

I'm using a SIM less phone for banking, and quite a bit of web browsing and FB too. It doesn't generally leave the house, and my regular phone doesn't get clogged up with so many apps I can't find where to make a phone call in a hurry. I can access emails, and if FB or whatever sends a verification text I just copy it from my proper phone.

I don't have an 'old' phone but I guess I could pick up a cheap new one and get a PAYG sim for when I'm working on the go. I was just hoping there was a way to do it without multiple devices. I'm so used to Apple and it's the most expensive device out there - I may need to learn Android....

Is the only device you're using to access the internet one phone? It's likely to be easier if you use a computer.

You may not even need to put a SIM in it.

Honestly, it's very little hassle to me. I've recently had to upgrade the banking phone because several of the banking apps stopped working on the not so recent OS, but it's much easier than lugging a laptop round, and I refuse to do banking on my regular phone.

interesting, do you mean your "banking" phone works on the home wifi without needing a SIM in it?

The same device or the same browser? If you use a different browser like opera or ecosia does it try to associate with your existing account?
You may need a temporary sim number to register a new account but probably won't need it afterwards.

Yup. Home WiFi, work WiFi - any WiFi going, really! Although I'm picky about which WiFi I'll use for banking...

It's the functional equivalent of a tablet to me.

Why would it need a SIM? I can do the same banking on a computer connected only by Wi-Fi.
