Is this a way to cancel VirginMedia without calling them on the phone and going thtough various people trying to persuade you to stay?
I have hearing problems and hate talking on the phone.
I will shortly be out of contract so if I contact Virgin Media online and tell them I am moving home to somewhere outside their service area will they actually check the address I am moving to or will they just accept I am moving?

Use their chat service 👍Life in the slow lane0

Tell them you will be emigrating, going for a stay at His Majesty's leisure, moving in with a partner who already has the service etc. Or just tell them to cancel it.0

I too don't like speaking to Virgin on the phone, mainly because it's just such a waste of time.
You can have a chat on What's App with them and I used that to cancel my Uncle's service.
The phone number is 07803089684.

What is you actual intention, if you are leaving VM and joining (switching) to another provider at your existing address , even if it’s another network ( Openreach, City Fibre , whatever) then you leave it to whoever you are going to use to contact CM of your behalf, you don’t need to contact VM yourself….if you are moving , or leaving VM and not joining another network then you will have to contact them , if you have TV from Virgin then you need to advise them as ‘switching’ is only broadband and telephone
If you are moving home and don’t want to try and sell you CM at the new address , you are u see no obligation to tell them , but if you want to tell them anything, they can’t know if it’s the truth, say you are buying a campervan and touring around , or going to live in another country , all they need to know is you won’t be needing VM0 -

But you still haven’t answered the question, if you are just quitting, so will have no service at all at your current address ( and you are not moving house ) you need to advise Virgin , otherwise how can they know to stop billing you.
If you are switching providers, so at your address you will still have a service in your name , just from someone other than Virgin , you don’t contact Virgin yourself anyway, the new company ( as an example, say that Sky on Openreach network ) advise Virgin you are leaving, that’s how OTS , one touch switching, works .0
