An update a long while after the inital query.
Wise did give me a Belgian IBAN number but the Belgian Pension authorities refused to accept it for payment of my Belgian pension. I gather they won't accept revolut either.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience?
    Thanks

Revolut has a UK banking licence now so you could try.

Did you look at HSBC and its Global Money account? Apart from being a well established bank it has a debit card and will accept euro deposits.

That's very unreasonable for Belgian pension authorities not to accept the Belgian bank account details.

Wise isn't a bank, though. That's probably the issue. It uses a third party.
