So i am nearing or just past my 1st year as sim only, i have had an email saying my plan is going up in price come april this year. Now looking on Uswitch there are some good deals i like which are also increasing in price come april this year however they will be under what my current sim new monthly price will be.

How do i end my current sim only plan and jump onto another/new sim only plan, and should i do it now before any increases or in april after the increases?

just seen my renewal date is 3rd may 2026

thanks for any answers

    Haggle with your current provider.

My April rise was going to be 25%, from £6.00 to £7.50.

After a 5 minute call I will be paying £4.50 a month for the next 12 months.

    Just call and be polite.

I'm hoping that, like previous years, come March the networks will start pricing new contracts with no increases until April 26. That's the point at which I'll upgrade my SIM-only to another like-for-like.

Worked for last two years, last year price dropped by £1/month.

We went from 3 to O2 SIM only contracts then the GiffGaff and 1P Mobile. The latter are “non contract” pay a month at a time. Very flexible and most importantly, you are not stuck in a 12/18/24 month contract  :)

Lebara hasn't changed the price since I took my SIM only deal out 4 years ago, not everyone increases every year
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Talkmobile have some good deals via uswitch at the moment with no price increase this year. Have 3 contracts with them with no issues. They use Vodafone's signal, if that works for you. They offer 30 day and 12 month deals
