Switch from Virgin to Sky

Just a heads up, My contract with Virginmedia (Broadband, phone and basic tv package) ended in December, as a consequence the price went up from £42 to £65 originally was £39.
After some research I decided to switch to Sky similar package but next level up tv + Netflix and Discovery+, price is £39, so saving £26 a month. All good so far. However, I need installation for the FFBB, this is not due until 24 March. Sky sent out their Skystream puck 27 January, so I am currently paying £22 for Sky and still paying £65 to Virgin until the switch is completed.

Having very similar experience but with added broadband complications
Sky sent out the pucks very early - and set an activation date that wasn’t agreed on the phone. When I complained they credited my account to cover the costs until the date agreed for changeover at the end of my Virgin deal. However the broadband has been delayed and so the ‘one-touch switchover’ hasn’t gone though, so I am now outwith my contract, paying more than £100 a month MORE than my previous promotional price per month… and now with Sky on top.
Tried to remove TV from my existing Virgin package since I now have Sky TV but Virgin won’t remove it without restarting another 18month contract.
still need broadband so can’t cancel altogether and Sky are just knocking the date for a ‘further update’ on and on while my charges to. Virgin go up and up.Have complained but only get told to wait until the next update message 😩
Would hope Sky compensation procedure would be clearer.0 -

Thanks for the replies.
Update, Openreach arrived unexpectedly earlier this month to run the new cable to my home, no problem there.
I got a message from Sky/Openreach moving the installation/activation date forward to 11 April.
This went ahead with no problem, so all up and running.
Just waiting for the final bill from Virgin and the box and instructions to return their equipment.0
