    What risk ?

    No risk exists at all.

Also, TV Licence evasion doesn't go on the national criminal record, and is not disclosable on a basic criminal record check.

People are listening to Capita Debt collectors dribble isnt very sensible at all.

Yes they are very convincing and theatening because thats the game they play thats how they elicit money .

Its got nothing to do with reality though .

Sadly, they are on an enhanced dbs check which is what I need.   My last job, the company actually re-checked for criminal records every 6 months.
May not seem like a risk to others, but to me it is and I've seen people kicked out due to things appearing on their enhanced dbs check.

Yes exactly ...its a perceived threat by you personally and I can certainly understand why via Debt collector dribble but with some greater understanding you can change all that .

Not sure what your perceived risk is.

If you don't have a Licence, TVL may come to your door.   They won't be bringing any kind of electronic equipment and they don't have a legal right of entry in their routine day-to-day operations.

They will ring the bell, and you don't have to answer (it will likely be a middle-aged man with a clipboard).    If you have a video doorbell, they  will probably just leave.

If you do answer, they will likely begin by asking if you are the name on their records.   You can say no, and they will probably leave at that point.   If they are satisfied that they are speaking to someone known to them they should inform you that they are working for TV Licensing, and you can then tell them to leave, which they must do.

If they did begin to ask questions, then you can exercise your right to silence and also your right to counsel, and you can decline to be interviewed overall, and you can still require them to leave.

If you require them to leave and they don't go promptly, then you can call the Police to remove them.   Technically, you can remove them yourself, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Thats the polite acceptable approach above except your dealing with manipulative Debt collection contractors .

Just close the door shut dont say a word and do something positive with your day instead of listening to some clown .

Thats the end of it except for more manipulative threatening letters which go straight in the bin as they are powerless.

They aren't actually debt collection contractors - the TV Licence is a statutory requirement, and not a civil debt.

The BBC operates TV Licensing, and the name belongs to them.   They employ Capita to run the call centre and send the door-to-door staff.
