Samsung beyond economic repair still under contract

Options
I have a contract phone with tesco mobile which suddenly stopped working. They've now examined it (which i had to pay for as they're told me the phone is outwith its warranty) and told me that the main board is faulty and it's beyond economical repair. They have told me I will either have to buy a refurbished mobile from them to continue my contract or pay the remainder of my contract to end it. What are my rights? Do I have any?!

Unless they are stating that this is due to neglect or somehow your fault then I would point out that this phone was not Fit For Purpose if it isn't of sufficient build quality to last the duration of the contract they sold you and ask what they intend to do to resolve this issue (that does not involve you spending more money).
