The reason Rebtel would not work for me is that you cannot use it to call anyone in your country. I was not aware of this...

I am not happy but we need something. We are getting Skype subscriptions:  USA x2 and World x 2 which comes to £26.40 p/mo
We also have mobile pay-as-you-go's which comes to £20 ea p/mo for me and he buys when needed.
I am not used to spending so much especially because I mostly use various social media apps to send messages but that does not work for business numbers...

In case you haven't seen it, Microsoft have announced today that they will be ending Skype in May.

Their suggestion is to migrate to MS Teams, but I'm not familiar enough with Skype or Teams to know how suitable that might be for your needs.

Oh no!  Thank you for this. I will check out MS Teams although not very happy after all of the work I have gone through.

I have my Skype alternative!  Viber Out is perfect for me. We want the Worldwide subscription which is $5.99 p/a and we can use it to call within the UK even though we live in the UK.  They only take USD and Euros which might be a problem if the conversion rate is high, I am checking

Just in case that's not a typo, Viber Out Worldwide is €5.99 a MONTH.

    - Many VoIPS/Apps ask for your number in the USA to get the app. I do not have one
The two I suggested are both UK based organisations so dont ask you to provide a US number

Re Viber Out Worldwide, they just emailed me with an answer that has really annoyed me. Their website shows the UK in that plan so I should be able to call mobiles and landlines from the Isle of Man which is +44, the same as the England. The answer is it does not work for that plan! It only works for Viber Out calls using World Credits. So my decision is, no thank you.

I have just downloaded Yolla which works by buying credit like Skype did. $8 = £6.19.  I have not checked deductions yet - VAT, conversion etc., but I am hoping this will be the last one I have to deal with...
