Parking eye court action - Car park charges

Hi,
I have recently had parking eye confirm that they will pursue their PCN invoice, where I was parked in a car park in which their ANPR system registered my vehicle.
I stayed 10 minutes past the grace period I am aware of.
However, the car park is no longer used by the company that parking eye is registered for. The company closed down 10 months before I went onto the car park. As such I thought with it being unused it would be ok to pick up a friend. The signage was very visible.
With the company that owned the car park having closed down, it would be impossible for me to enter my registration into the machine as is stated in their instructions and subsequent letters to me.
My two questions are:
1. Can Parking eye really charge me if the company has gone bust and hence are not losing out on any custom by someone parking in this area for a short period of time?
2. If I were to go to court to fight this. Is there a possibility of further charges than the amount currently claimed for which is £100 + admin and court fees?
Thanks for any guidance

1. Yes they can.
2. Of course not. The £25 admin (assuming this claim was brought in-house by ParkingEye, and not by DCB Legal?) gets disallowed by a Judge anyway, as it isn't on ParkingEye signs.
Please read the second post of the NEWBIES thread which tells you exactly what to do.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
