Can you clarify the following please.  I get PC and AA but hadn’t heard of any disability premium.  When I looked on the Gov website it states that the disability premium is only payable for people under PC age.

I put my details into the online benefits checkers again but nothing about disability premium came up.
Are you referring to the disability premium of £42.50/week? If so then this is only paid to those claiming either Income Support or Income Related JSA, The only disability Premium payable when claiming PC is Severe Disability Addition. (known as Severe Disability Premium when claiming benefits such as Income Related ESA/JSA and Income Support)
The following is from the turn2us website. I get Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit and Housing Benefit. According to this the SDP rate is £81.50

Can I get a Severe Disability Premium?

To get a Severe Disability Premium (SDP), you have to be getting an income-related benefit. This could be:

    Income Support
    income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
    Guarantee Pension Credit
    Housing Benefit.

You also must be getting one of these benefits:

Attendance Allowance (or Constant Attendance Allowance paid with Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit or War Pension)
    Pension Age Disability Payment (Scotland)
Disability Living Allowance care component at the middle or highest rate
Personal Independence Payment daily living component
Adult Disability Payment (Scotland) daily living component
    Armed Forces Independence Payment

How much Severe Disability Premium will I get?

There are two rates of Severe Disability Premium:

Single person rate - £81.50 per week
Couple rate - £163.00 per week
SDP which is known as SDA (Severe Disability Addition) for PC. For a single person, they must live alone (no other adults living with you, unless they are either registered blind or claiming one of the following disability benefits.. PIP/ADP daily living, DLA mid/high rare care or AA.

For couples rate, obviously you need to be living with a partner that also claims a qualifying disability benefit or registered blind.

No one must be claiming either carers allowance or Carers element of Universal Credit for looking after you.

You've mentioned before that you didn't qualify for PC before you applied for AA, then you did once you received AA.

The reason is that the extra amount is added to your PC calculation, thus raising the income threshold at which you become eligible for PC.

So for a single person, normally the income threshold is £218.15.  But if you meet the criteria for the SDA, that threshold increases by £81.50.

So it's still income-related as to whether someone is eligible for PC, just the SDA raises the threshold under which they qualify.
