Octopus app not showing live electricity usage

Just had a smart meter installed, for electricity, and downloaded the Octopus app.  Noticed today that the smart meter has now connected and I can see previous days usage in the app but I can’t see the live usage for today.  Having looked online, I should see an option in the app for live usage after I select the Usage option, but I don’t see that.  Is this just an issue with the app or do I need to wait a couple of days for the smart meter to fully connect and all the app functionality to work?

Thanks

They have been handing out the Mini instead of an IHD for a few months so the OP may have it but perhaps not set up yet...?

Did they give you a pink square with a power supply? If so that's your home mini and you need to connect it to your wifi, it's simple to set up using the leaflet that came with it, and then you'll have live usage. If they didn't give you one email Octopus and ask for one.

https://octopus.energy/blog/octopus-home-mini/ info here, they used to be an optional add on but it sounds as though they're now standard

Isn't that a bit naughty, since it won't work if you switch supplier?

Don’t have a Mini, yet, have asked for one.  Just have the IHD.

Once the mini arrives it's simple to set up and very useful. I hesitated to set mine up having been a bit put off by the in home display when I first had the meters fitted. But the mini and live data means you can see what you're using when much more clearly and reduce or move your usage and check the effect it has straight away. If you've got gas too that's not quite live via the home mini there's a reading every half hour but still very useful.

Then you will not have access to live data at this time.

But you do need to enable geolocation and grant the Octopus app permissions - If you don't have geolocation, there are apps that will fake it for you.
The Octopus app has stopped working on my tablet despite doing a factory reset. Unfortunately, consumption for today's data is not available via the web site, although you do get an instantaneous reading for electricity. That said, if you use Home Assistant, there is a plugin that can pull in current consumption for both electricity and gas (the latter appears to be 30-60 minutes out).
Personally, I'm not that impressed with the Home Mini, so may get a Hildebrand Glow at some point.
