in Water bills
I pay £62 a month and live alone in a 2 bed semi with water meter. I feel it is quite expensive as when I first moved in it was £30 (2018). Granted I have 2 showers a day and do leave it running (15 mins each) and the washing machine is on once a day minimum. Does this seem about right...want to guage others in a similar situation

It sounds as though it probably is right if you're using the washing machine 7 times a week and showering for 3.5 hours a week2

Particularly as prices have increased significantly since 2018.2

is this just for water in or for water out as well? (different areas have different systems)
frankly if you live alone this seems a lot of money to me but I don't shower daily and never for as long as that either. But 2 people and washing done a 2 - 3 times a week, plus a garden that gets watered in the summer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Do you have a meter? Have you checked your usage? If you are metered that seems expensive. If you are not on a meter then probably what you would expect. We are three people and pay less than half what you do. We have three showers a day but for less time. We run the dishwasher or washing machine most days. We are all home all day so lots of usage in the day.0

Two 15- minute showers would be 300 litres a day.For comparison my household of 3 (sometimes 4) people uses a bit less than that, in total, between us.N. Hampshire, he/him. Why would someone living alone need to run a washing machine daily?1

They might have a reason for lots of washing or perhaps they could modify their behaviour to save some money. My husband and stepson love turning on the appliances. I encourage them to fill the washing machine or dishwasher before turning them on. It’s a work in progress but we don’t use loads of water so I guess we are not doing too badly.1
