    How did you get on?
Still nothing!! Now trying to secure a lender that we meet affordability on, just on my husbands wage. No lender will take my wage into account. So frustrating.

Broker is resourcing skipton, Leeds & virgin tomorrow and then narrowing it down.

I’m getting so impatient and frustrated. Estate agents keep chasing me and so do the solicitors.

How are you getting on? Any joy with Kensington?
Oh that’s so frustrating! Skipton offered us a good amount on affordability but wouldn’t accept my 5yo default! But if it’s not in your partners name then fingers crossed!

Nothing to update…app submitted Thursday…came back immediately with additional document requests and to sign declaration etc, sent back Friday morning and silence since! Losing sleep over it!
Is your default settled? That’s frustrating. We have a mortgage application gone in today with Leeds building society. Going to be like you now & not sleep a wink until we hear 😩
Yes it is now settled but only at the beginning of this year when starting to look at mortgages. It was only £180. Oh fingers crossed for you! Leeds gave us a high DIP amount as they offered the higher income multiples but then declined us a couple days after our full app went In. From what I can gather we passed credit and affordability but had a very picky underwriter and were just unlucky I think!
We’ve been asked for different documents and asked random questions already. They’ve done a hard search and soft search on our credit files. They seem very thorough. They’re doing more than what NatWest did though so I’m taking that as a positive.

Have you still not heard anything?
Fingers crossed for you! We had a lot of questions from them and they declined us the day after so if they haven’t yet I’d take that as a bonus!

We’ve had another small handful of things from Kensington, and I had to write a letter as I’m on Mat leave currently so that’s understandable.
valuation has been instructed but there was no date booked as of Friday, hoping we will hear more this week! It’s been over a week and haven’t been declined so again taking it as a positive; broker has said Kensington ask a lot of questions but like to get there in the end so fingers crossed!

That’s good to know. They asked questions Friday but our broker doesn’t work Mondays so they may of declined us today and we won’t know until tomorrow. Praying things work out. Solicitors are doing enquiries now so won’t be long until that’s done. And we still don’t have a mortgage offer!! Arghh! We applied last Wednesday so not as long as you. Hopefully we’ll both get an update tomorrow. Yes my brother said the same about Leeds, “if they can make it fit, they will” 🙏

The requests from Kensington are literally in dribs and drabs as most reviews state, but nothing we haven’t been able to provide quickly, iv had to contact my landlord as they are still waiting on a reference. The valuation has been instructed but still no date!

They came back to us on Friday asking to re-fill out the gifted deposit form for the full amount of money that had been gifted even though we weren’t using it all for the deposit and using own savings aswell…also asking for partners mums ID as it’s a joint account and we only sent his dads. Also just waiting for my LL ref back and valuation hopefully this week. It feels never ending but I’d like to think they wouldn’t be this pedantic if they had no intention of offering! How are you getting on?

Oh my goodness, they are thorough aren’t they!!! But like you say, you wouldn’t think they’d go to these lengths to then decline the application so fingers crossed 🙏

Leeds came back with a lower loan amount. They deducted nursery bills off our bank statement but didn’t counter in that we have 85% child care costs covered through universal credits. Also, we didn’t include my earnings in the application because I didn’t meet criteria. But my contract has just been renewed so now they’re considering my income. So broker has submitted my contract and they’re doing a full review. She said it’ll be another 3 days for an update now 🫠 the wait is a killer isn’t it!!! I have no idea what we’re going to do if they decline or come back with a lower offer again. We’ve asked for 225k and they offered 167k!!!! Massive difference!! But then they were factoring in £600 nursery costs and not considering my income so hopefully it’s going to be more positive this week 😭

Well we submitted the docs and my landlord sent my reference first thing yesterday morning. Attempted to chase the MA this morning for a valuation date but she’s out of office until Thursday!
after a few confusing emails with the estate agents (bearing in mind we are using their MA, it turns out our valuation was done on the 7th confirmed by the vendor….so now we are just waiting for her to come back in the office Thursday. Hopefully that’s all and we will have an offer soon…still nervous they could decline us at this late stage but at the same time atleast I think we are close to knowing one way or the other!!
That’s so naff they came back with such a low amount, I think some lenders are funny about considering UC even though I totally get you get alot of childcare costs back! Fingers crossed they take your money into account now if you’ve received a new contract, are your vendors being patient?
fingers crossed for good news for both of us this week!
